    This mirrors broader industry issues: embodied GHGs in trade average 1.5-6.4 tons per capita, and in high-emission OECD countries, per capita CO2 exceeds 14 tons against a global average of 4.2 tons. Financing gaps for net-zero transitions slow value chain decarbonization, where indirect emissions often dwarf direct operations.

    Carbon insetting addresses this by investing directly in verifiable reductions within the value chain Unlike offsets it builds shared incentives: buyers co-finance project owners' Scope 1 reductions and claim them against their Scope 3 footprint (post-verification). This de-risks high-impact projects like green hydrogen derivatives or sustainable materials, using pre-sold credits to send clear market signals.
