Japan has more than twice the validated SBTi targets of the United States
Asia's regional adoption of science-based targets is growing faster than Europe's.
In some markets, Asia is leading on corporate climate action. Japan now has more than 2x the number of validated SBTi targets as the United States, while Asia’s regional adoption is growing faster than Europe’s.
The pattern reflects how corporate climate commitments are spreading through supply chains rather than through regulation alone. Japanese and other Asian manufacturers sit upstream of European and American brands, and target validation has become part of what those customers expect from a strategic supplier.
That creates a large pool of companies with targets and limited tools to deliver on the Scope 3 portion of them. Carbon3's platform is built for exactly that gap: it lets a validated target holder finance verified reductions among its own suppliers and count the result, rather than relying on offsets that do not qualify.
