About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The AAL SEB project installs a 25 MW high-pressure electric boiler at Aughinish Alumina's refinery in Ireland to partially decarbonize high-pressure steam production by displacing fossil fuel use with renewable electricity. It demonstrates demand-side flexibility and frequency response services to support the Irish grid's high renewable penetration, reducing wind curtailment and enhancing system stability. The initiative avoids approximately 5% of the site's GHG emissions and is scalable to other industries.<grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">21</argument></grok:render><grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">1</argument></grok:render>
