How this benchmark is built

Every figure on this page is a registry aggregate or a registry row. No model writes any of it.

Peers
Peers are the companies in the same industry on the SBTi target registry, as SBTi lists it for the company. A company with no SBTi record is compared with its broad emissions-registry sector instead, and the page marks that comparison as rough.
Scope 3 share
Scope 3 emissions divided by the sum of Scope 1, 2 and 3, for the latest year on the emissions registry. Scope 3 boundaries differ from one report to the next, so compare shares with care.
Target status
Near-term and net-zero status as the SBTi registry lists them. Carbon3 does not assess, rate or endorse any target, and a listing here is not an approval.
Verdicts
Each verdict follows fixed rules. A dimension needs at least ten peers before it gets a verdict, and half or more of the peers sets the bar. Absolute tonnes are never compared between companies.
