About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
NYK signed contracts in December 2023 for construction of the world's first ammonia-fueled medium gas carrier (AFMGC/AFAGC) as part of NEDO GI Fund consortium project. The vessel will use ammonia cargo as fuel, scheduled for delivery in November 2026, and includes a time-charter agreement with Yara Clean Ammonia for operation in NYK's value chain. Evidence: "In December 2023, Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK), Japan Engine Corporation, IHI Power Systems Co., and Nihon Shipyard Co., Ltd. signed a series of contracts to construct the world's first ammonia-fueled medium gas carrier (AFMGC) equipped with Japan-made engines. ... completion of the vessel will be a significant step toward the realization of decarbonization in the maritime sector." — https://www.nyk.com/english/news/2024/20240125_02.html
