About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Enbridge's Westcoast Energy affiliate expanded its natural gas pipeline system in British Columbia with three electric-powered compressor stations (at Mackie Creek, Sunset Creek, and new Wǫchiigii) plus associated powerlines, replacing or avoiding gas-fired units. This electrification reduces direct operational GHG emissions from the company's own pipeline operations as part of its net-zero by 2050 target. Evidence: "These facilities represent an important step in modernizing the Westcoast system and help reduce operational emissions while continuing to deliver the energy that people depend on every day." — https://www.enbridge.com/stories/2026/september/enbridge-aspen-point-program-in-service-greater-energy-security-british-columbia-westcoast-pipeline
