About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The AustroCel Hallein biorefinery, located in Austria, amends traditional paper pulp production to also manufacture advanced second-generation bioethanol from lignocellulosic wood residues. Operational since 2020, the facility produces up to 35 million liters of bioethanol annually, along with biogas and district heating, supporting the circular economy. This initiative is estimated to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 50,000 metric tons per year through the displacement of fossil fuels.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
