About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Olin transitioned its Baltringen, Germany epoxy hardeners production site to operate with 100% renewable energy sources through a new electricity supply contract for renewable hydropower and installation of on-site solar panels on the workshop. This insetting project reduces the site's Scope 2 emissions as part of broader operational efficiency and decarbonization efforts. The site supports wind energy and other applications while advancing Olin's sustainability targets. Evidence: "Olin’s Baltringen, Germany, site plays a critical role in producing epoxy hardeners that support the wind energy industry and other key applications. Committed to reducing our carbon footprint while continuing to deliver essential chemistries, we have transitioned the site to operating with 100% renewable energy sources—a major milestone in our sustainability journey. To achieve this, site management and procurement teams collaborated to secure a new electricity supply contract utilizing renewable hydropower energy. Additionally, solar panels were installed on the site’s workshop, enabling on-site energy generation." — https://olin.com/wp-content/uploads/2024_Olin_Sustainability_Report.pdf
