About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The BCP project implements and validates at commercial scale an innovative technology that recovers waste heat from furnace fumes to preheat batches of raw materials and cullet in flat glass production. This first-of-a-kind solution aims to save 10% of a glass furnace's total energy consumption (30 GWh/y), resulting in CO2 emission reductions of more than 5600 metric tons per year for a standard float line. Led by Saint-Gobain at their Glass Aniche plant in France, the technology supports decarbonization efforts across the European flat glass sector.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
