About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The BEAR project demonstrates a first-of-a-kind hybrid end-fired regenerative furnace with over 40% electrical melting share at Steklarna Hrastnik's site in Hrastnik, Slovenia, replacing the existing furnace for extra-white flint glass production. It combines energy efficiency of electric furnaces with flexibility of regenerative ones, reducing natural gas use by over 50% and avoiding nearly 100,000 tonnes of CO2e over the first ten years. The project enhances alignment with renewable energy, boosts local energy resilience, and supports economic development in the Zasavje coal transition region.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
