About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The BACCO project scales up an innovative industrial production technology that valorizes agro-industrial residues and waste into green biofillers and vegetal oils for the plastics industry, using a solvent-free, energy-efficient three-in-one process applicable to diverse waste streams. This enables lower costs, better thermo-mechanical performance, and approximately 73% GHG emission avoidance compared to reference scenarios, equating to 29,315 metric tons of CO2e reduced annually.<grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">7</argument></grok:render><grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">36</argument></grok:render> It promotes circular economy principles, supports EU climate neutrality targets, and creates jobs in Emilia-Romagna while offering scalability to other sectors like textiles and paper.
