About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Giga Arctic aims to establish a state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery giga factory with an annual capacity of 29 GWh in Mo i Rana, Norway, deploying innovative binder-free cell manufacturing technology for energy storage systems. The project reduces manufacturing steps, energy consumption, CAPEX, and footprint compared to conventional processes, achieving 100% relative GHG emission avoidance versus reference scenarios. Over the first ten years, it is projected to avoid 27.8 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions while fostering Europe's battery value chain and renewable energy transition.<grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">11</argument></grok:render><grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">29</argument></grok:render>
