About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
CapturEste is Italy's first industrial-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) project applied to a waste-to-energy (WTE) plant at Herambiente's Ferrara facility. It employs Saipem's Bluenzyme™ enzymatic technology integrated with geothermal heat to capture approximately 64,000 tonnes of fossil CO₂ annually, achieving nearly net-zero emissions for energy production. The initiative supports the EU's climate objectives, enhances circular economy practices, and paves the way for replication across other WTE plants.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
