About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The Carbon2Chem initiative, led by thyssenkrupp, commercially demonstrates the production of chemicals such as ammonia and methanol from steel offgases using a balancing load approach to alleviate electricity grid loads. The pilot plant in Duisburg, Germany, completed construction and produced methanol for the first time in 2018, with the first phase finished in 2020. The project entered its third phase in early 2025 with €50 million funding from the German government to advance CCUS technologies.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
