About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Pacific Energy integrated 8 MW of solar generation into the existing gas power station at Northern Star Resources' Carosue Dam gold operations in Laverton, Western Australia. The project, completed in March 2025, meets 7% of the site's annual energy needs and cuts carbon emissions by around 9,000 tonnes each year as part of Northern Star's decarbonisation of its own mining operations. Builds on prior smaller solar additions at the site. Evidence: "Building on this foundation in 2024, Pacific Energy integrated 8MW of solar generation into the power system to support Northern Stars’ decarbonisation objectives. Completed in March 2025, the solar installation can meet 7% of the site’s annual energy needs, cutting carbon emissions by around 9,000 tonnes each year, and delivering fuel cost savings upwards of $2.7 million annually." — https://pacificenergy.com.au/project/carosue-hybrid-power-system/
