About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
PetroChina's Changqing Oilfield branch manages the EOR and sequestration component of the Ningdong CCUS demonstration project, capturing CO2 from China Energy's coal-to-liquid facility for injection into oil reservoirs. Construction of phases began in 2023 with first-phase operations targeted for 2024 and scaling to 1 million tons/year by 2025. This insetting project reduces emissions in PetroChina's upstream operations via CO2-EOR. Evidence: "The CCUS Demonstration Project consists of two parts: the 'Ningdong Base Carbon Source Capture Project,' managed by China Energy’s Ningxia Coal Industry, and the 'Changqing Oilfield (Ningxia) Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) and Sequestration Project,' managed by PetroChina's Changqing Oilfield branch." — https://www.ceic.com/gjnyjtwwEn/xwzx/202401/4d90d45cab074fb8b4b810c61d51052c.shtml
