About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The CO2-FrAMed project will deploy approximately 12 stand-alone large-power photovoltaic irrigation systems (PVI) in Spain to replace conventional electric and diesel-based pumping systems, achieving 100% reduction in reference emissions without needing backup batteries. It incorporates innovative PVI technology to manage PV intermittency, advanced monitoring for automatic fault detection, and a financing model using pooled power purchase agreements (PPAs) totaling 7.35 MW. The project avoids 17,700 tCO2e over the first 10 years, reduces water consumption by up to 30%, and lowers costs for farmers while demonstrating high scalability worldwide.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
