About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
PCBL operates multiple cogeneration power plants across its carbon black manufacturing sites (including Mundra, Palej, Kochi, Durgapur, and Chennai) that recover energy from process tail gas and waste heat to generate electricity for on-site use and export to the grid. These projects improve energy efficiency and abate emissions by replacing conventional fossil fuel power in PCBL's own operations and value chain. Evidence: "Co-generated steam and electricity is produced by utilising the heat & chemical energy of tail gas generated in the manufacturing process of carbon black. ... By doing so, we offset the GHG emissions that would have been caused by using fossil fuels to produce the same amount of electricity." — https://nsearchives.nseindia.com/corporate/PCBL_25082026191630_IntimationofBRSRreport.pdf
