About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Alliant Energy is developing the first long-duration CO2-based energy storage project in the US at Columbia County, Wisconsin. The project converts CO2 gas to compressed liquid for grid-scale storage to support renewable integration and reduce reliance on fossil generation in Alliant's operations. Evidence: "Alliant Energy’s new battery system, known as the Columbia Energy Storage Project, would be the first-of-its-kind in the United States" — https://www.alliantenergy.com/news/news-center/2023/09/092223-columbiaenergystorage
