About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Concrete Chemicals is a carbon capture and utilization (CCU) project at CEMEX's Rüdersdorf cement plant in Germany, where CO2 emissions are captured and combined with green hydrogen produced via wind power electrolysis to create synthesis gas. This synthesis gas is then converted into synthetic green hydrocarbons, such as methanol and sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), using innovative catalytic processes and the Fischer-Tropsch procedure. The project serves as a model for decarbonizing the cement industry, aligning with Brandenburg's CO2 reduction targets and the European Green Deal, with plans to achieve operational status by 2028.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
