About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Arvind Limited partnered with Peak Sustainability Ventures to build India's first industrial-scale cotton stalk torrefaction plant in Gujarat with 40,000+ tonnes per year capacity. The torrefied biomass will replace at least 20% of coal-based thermal energy in Arvind's industrial boilers as a drop-in fuel switch, advancing circular waste-to-energy and decarbonization goals toward 100% coal-free operations by 2030. Evidence: "Arvind Limited, one of India’s leading textile-to-retail conglomerates, and Peak Sustainability Ventures... have entered into a partnership to build a large-scale cotton stalk torrefaction plant in Gujarat, with a capacity of 40,000+ tonnes per year... The torrefied biomass produced will be used to power Arvind’s industrial boilers, enabling the company to replace at least 20% of its coal-based thermal energy needs." — https://renewable-carbon.eu/news/peak-sustainability-ventures-arvind-launch-indias-first-industrial-scale-cotton-stalk-torrefaction-project-decarbonizing-textile-manufacturing-in-gujarat/
