About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
CPKC converts diesel-electric locomotives to zero-emissions hydrogen fuel cell units to reduce direct locomotive emissions. The program has progressed from initial trials to over 6,000 miles of freight service testing by end of 2024, with fleet expansion planned for 2025. Evidence: "Making significant strides with our pioneering H2 Locomotive Program which has swiftly progressed from initial movement trials to recording more than 6,000 miles in freight service testing by the end of 2024." — https://www.cpkcr.com/content/dam/cpkc/sustainability/2025/CPKC%20Climate%20Mileposts.pdf
