About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
WesCEF subsidiary CSBP is installing tertiary abatement catalysts in its nitric acid plants to reduce nitrous oxide emissions as part of its decarbonisation roadmap. Funding from the Australian government's Powering the Regions Fund supports installation in older plants, with one catalyst already installed in FY2025 at a Kwinana plant. This directly abates Scope 1 emissions in Wesfarmers' own chemical operations. Evidence: "The funding, received through the Powering the Regions Fund, will be used to install tertiary abatement catalysts in two of its older Nitric Acid Ammonium Nitrate plants." — https://wescef.com.au/2024/04/24/commonwealth-funding-to-help-wescef-accelerate-decarbonisation/
