About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Kiewit upgraded its derrick barge DB Bob Wilson with a hybrid power system including a 672-kWh battery, PGS1260 microgrid, and two EPA Tier 4 generators to reduce fuel consumption and GHG emissions in its marine construction fleet operations. The project modernizes the vessel for lower operating costs, reduced maintenance, and alignment with climate targets, with plans to convert four additional derrick barges. This is an insetting effort in Kiewit's own fleet and value chain. Evidence: "Committed to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while optimizing costs, Kiewit collaborated with Caterpillar Marine to upgrade its existing fleet with an electrification solution." — https://www.cat.com/en_US/by-industry/marine/case-studies/optimizing-kiewit-derrick-barge-performance-with-electrification.html
