About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
GREENMOTRIL aims to demonstrate the benefits of a smart self-managed renewable energy community in the Port of Motril, enabling off-grid operation with a 2.5 MW PV plant, 4 MWh storage system, and advanced microgrid management. It will integrate 6,300 MWh of renewable energy annually, reducing GHG emissions by 29,135 tonnes of CO2e over ten years through port activities and onshore power supply for ships. Coordinated by Cuerva with partners including Autoridad Portuaria de Motril and GE Vernova, the project supports EU climate goals with high replication potential in ports.
