About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The E-CO2MET Raffinerie Mitteldeutschland project is a pilot initiative to produce synthetic methanol using captured CO2 from the TotalEnergies refinery in Leuna, Germany, and green hydrogen generated via high-temperature electrolysis powered by renewable energy. Led by TotalEnergies in collaboration with Sunfire and Fraunhofer institutes, it demonstrates the integration of CO2 utilization, efficient hydrogen production, and methanol synthesis to enable climate-neutral raw materials for the chemicals and plastics sector. The project tests process interactions under industrial conditions to support decarbonization of basic chemical production.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
