About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The ECOPLANTA project revolutionizes municipal solid waste management by converting non-recyclable materials rejected by sorting centers into circular chemicals and advanced biofuels using innovative gasification technology. Located in El Morell, Spain, the plant will produce 237 kt/y of methanol, recovering 70% of the carbon from waste and avoiding 3.4 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent GHG emissions over its first ten years of operation. It supports EU Circular Economy Action Plan and RED II objectives by producing recycled products from waste that would otherwise go to landfills or incinerators.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
