Merck KGaA signed virtual power purchase agreements (VPPAs) with Matrix Renewables and Renantis for approximately 300 GWh per year of renewable energy from five solar and wind projects in Spain. The agreements cover 100% of current electricity purchases in the EU and Switzerland from 2025 onward via renewable energy certificates, advancing Scope 2 decarbonization.
