About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
GCL Technology has fully transitioned its polysilicon production to FBR (fluidized bed reactor) granular silicon technology across multiple manufacturing bases in China, replacing traditional Siemens rod silicon process. This process redesign significantly lowers energy consumption and direct emissions in the company's own silicon material operations. The technology has achieved verified low carbon footprints and is operational at scale. Evidence: "Based on the conservatively estimated carbon footprint value of 14.441 kg CO₂e/kg certified by the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) in 2025, the annual production capacity of 480,000 tons of granular silicon is projected to achieve the following compared to the traditional Siemens process: Expected annual power savings: 19.5 billion kWh; Expected annual reduction in CO₂ emissions: 10.48 million tons" — https://www.gcltech.com/en/goods/produce/9.html
