About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The Foresa-Iberdrola Green Methanol project, also known as Green MEIGA, is a joint initiative to produce e-methanol using green hydrogen generated from a 20 MW electrolyzer powered by renewables and CO2 captured from biomass at Foresa's facilities in Galicia, Spain. The project aims to replace fossil-based methanol in chemical production, with an initial capacity of 10,000 tons per year, scalable to 100,000 tons annually. It supports decarbonization of the chemical sector, job creation, and Spain's green hydrogen strategy, with operations expected to start in 2027.
