About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Lundin Gold signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Barka Capital for dedicated renewable electricity supply from the Hidroquest hydroelectric plant (45 MW capacity) to its Fruta del Norte gold mine in Ecuador. The agreement covers the mine's current maximum demand of approximately 20 MW (145 GWh annual consumption) with potential expansion to 27 MW, securing 100% hydro power for operations. The plant is in final construction stages and expected to begin generation in August-September 2026.
