About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The FUREC project (FUse, REuse, ReCycle) transforms non-recyclable solid waste streams into hydrogen and circular feedstock for the chemical industry at the Chemelot industrial park in the Netherlands. Waste is pelletized and converted via torrefaction, milling, and entrained flow gasification into 54,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year, supplied to OCI N.V.'s ammonia plants. It avoids approximately 400,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually compared to reference scenarios by replacing natural gas and preventing waste incineration.<grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">56</argument></grok:render><grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">31</argument></grok:render>
