About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The GRAND PIANO project establishes a first-of-a-kind automated GW-scale production line for Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) and Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) Porous Transport Layers (PTL), and pioneers commercial production of breakthrough Membrane Electrode Assemblies (MEA) reducing iridium usage by 90%. It enables manufacturing up to 39 GW of PEM and AEM electrolyser capacity over ten years, avoiding up to 11.7 million tonnes CO2e. Located in Belgium, the project boosts local economy with 200 direct and 2,100 indirect jobs while enhancing Europe's green hydrogen competitiveness.
