About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The GreenHydroChem project, led by a consortium of Siemens, Linde, and Fraunhofer IMWS, is a demonstration initiative at the Leuna chemical site in Germany to produce green hydrogen using renewable electricity from a planned 50 MW electrolyzer. The hydrogen will be converted into methanol and other chemicals for local refineries, enabling sector coupling and reducing reliance on fossil-based production. Awarded German government funding in 2019, the project began partial operations with a 1 MW electrolyzer in 2021 and reached completion by 2024.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
