About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Greensand Future aims to permanently store 2.4 million tonnes of biogenic CO2 by injecting 0.3 million tonnes per annum for eight years into the depleted Nini West oilfield in the Danish North Sea. CO2 will be sourced from Danish and European biogas producers, transported by truck to Esbjerg port, and then by dedicated CO2-carrier vessel for injection. Building on the successful 2023 Greensand pilot, the project will establish one of the EU's first industrial-scale CCS facilities, with potential to scale to 8 mtpa by 2030, contributing significantly to Denmark's and EU's CO2 reduction targets.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
