About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Goodyear partnered with GETEC and Stadtwerke Hanau to build a biomass heating plant on the Hanau tire plant site using regionally sourced waste wood biomass. The plant will supply up to 95% of the facility's process heat needs, replacing natural gas, with commercial operation planned for mid-2028. It will also supply renewable heat to the local district heating network. Evidence: "In an exemplary collaboration, the specialist for decarbonized energy GETEC, Stadtwerke Hanau, and Goodyear have signed contracts for a renewable energy heat supply. ... By switching from gas to biomass, the tire plant’s CO₂ emissions at the Hanau site are expected to be reduced by up to 95% per year." — https://news.goodyear.eu/getec-municipal-utilities-hanau-and-goodyear-partner-for-renewable-energy-supply/
