About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Contracted wind power and battery storage project to supply renewable energy to Agnico Eagle's Hope Bay gold mine operations in Nunavut, Canada, displacing diesel generation. The project adds 4.2 MW wind and 4 MW battery storage, led by Inuit-owned Kitikmeot Tugliq Limited Partnership with federal funding support. Expected to reduce annual diesel use by approximately three million litres and GHG emissions by over 8,000 tonnes. Evidence: "Agnico Eagle welcomes the federal government's C$25 million funding commitment to the Hope Bay Wind Project, led by Inuit-owned Kitikmeot Tugliq Limited Partnership, which will add four megawatts of wind power and four megawatts of battery storage to the site's power system. This project is expected to reduce diesel consumption by approximately three million litres per year, lower greenhouse gas emissions" — https://www.agnicoeagle.com/English/news-and-media/news-releases/news-details/2026/AGNICO-EAGLE-APPROVES-HOPE-BAY-INVESTMENT-DECISION-STRONG-ECONOMIC-RETURNS-WITH-EXPECTED-ANNUAL-GOLD-PRODUCTION-OF-OVER-400000-OUNCES/default.aspx
