About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Canadian Natural Resources Limited owns and operates the Horizon Oil Sands mining and upgrading facility in Alberta, Canada. The project captures CO2 from the hydrogen plant and injects it into tailings to accelerate dewatering and reclamation while reducing GHG emissions. It has been operational since around 2017 with a capture capacity of approximately 400,000 tonnes of CO2 annually. Evidence: "At Horizon Oil Sands, we add captured CO2 to tailings to accelerate tailings readiness for closure and reclamation. Our CO2 recovery plant is designed to capture up to 50 tonnes/hour of CO2 from the hydrogen plant and inject it into the tailings. The plant has a capture capacity of ~400,000 tonnes of CO2 annually." — https://www.cnrl.com/content/uploads/2022-technology-and-innovation-case-studies.pdf
