About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The Volta project designs and builds a novel hybrid glass furnace combining electric melting and oxy-gas combustion at AGC’s Barevka patterned glass plant in Czechia, in partnership with Saint-Gobain. This highly electrified furnace reduces the pilot site’s scope 1 and 3 emissions by 75% compared to the reference scenario, achieving over 193,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent reduction over the first ten years of operation while using up to 100% recycled glass. The technology offers a scalable solution for decarbonizing the EU flat glass industry, supporting REPowerEU goals.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
