About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The Hynovi project is a collaborative carbon capture and utilization initiative between Vicat, Hynamics (an EDF subsidiary), and other partners at Vicat's Montalieu-Vercieu cement plant in eastern France. It involves capturing approximately 40% of the plant's CO2 emissions through oxy-fuel combustion and combining them with low-carbon electrolytic hydrogen produced from renewable energy to manufacture 200,000 tons of carbon-free methanol per year. This project supports decarbonization efforts in the cement and chemicals industries, with operations targeted for 2025-2028.
Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
