About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

The Joffre Viking Injection Project is a pioneering commercial CO2-enhanced oil recovery (EOR) initiative in the Viking formation near Joffre, Alberta, Canada, that began CO2 injection in 1985. CO2 captured from the adjacent NOVA Chemicals Ethylene Plant is injected into the reservoir to enhance oil production while achieving permanent underground sequestration. Operated by Whitecap Resources Inc., the project injects approximately 350 ktCO2 annually and continues to operate, supporting both energy production and greenhouse gas reduction efforts.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
