About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
West Japan Railway Company entered a corporate PPA for renewable solar power generated at a Sojitz-developed and operated plant, supplied via Kansai Electric Power to operate major train lines including JR Kyoto Line and JR Kobe Line. This replaces conventional grid power with renewables for Scope 2 emissions reduction in rail operations. Evidence: "Sojitz plans to provide environmental value (certificate) and renewable energy generated from a Sojitz-developed, owned, and operated solar power plant via Kansai Electric Power to supply power to operate JR West Japan’s major train lines, including the JR Kyoto Line and JR Kobe Line." — https://www.sojitz.com/en/news/article/20231214.html
