About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

Mercedes-Benz opened its own integrated mechanical-hydrometallurgical battery recycling plant in Kuppenheim, Germany, in October 2024. The facility recovers over 96% of materials including lithium, nickel and cobalt from end-of-life batteries for reuse in new Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle batteries, closing the loop in the upstream value chain and reducing primary resource demand. Evidence: "October 21, 2024 – Mercedes-Benz opened Europe's first battery recycling plant with an integrated mechanical-hydrometallurgical process making it the first car manufacturer worldwide to close the battery recycling loop with its own in-house facility. ... The expected recovery rate ... is more than 96 percent." — https://group.mercedes-benz.com/company/news/recycling-factory-kuppenheim.html
