About this project

The description is as the source gives it.

ScaleUp is Europe's first demonstration of a large-scale underground tank thermal energy storage system in Vienna, Austria, with 20 MW capacity, 40,000 m³ volume, and 2,200 MWh thermal storage. It enables seasonal storage of excess summer heat from renewables for winter district heating, increasing system flexibility and decarbonizing urban heating by avoiding fossil fuels. The project will reduce CO2 emissions by 81,254 tonnes over its first ten years of operation.

Statuses, countries and reductions are as the public source states them, and may be out of date.
