About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The MAGNUS project decarbonizes the glass manufacturing process in Italy by partially electrifying the furnace to 35%, replacing 18% of natural gas with biomethane, installing PV panels, insulating forehearths, and implementing advanced thermal and combustion controls. This innovative hybridization reduces GHG emissions by 25% relative to the baseline scenario. Over ten years of operation, it avoids approximately 56,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent.<grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">2</argument></grok:render><grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">52</argument></grok:render>
