About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Braskem contracted Veolia Brazil for a 20-year supply of renewable steam generated from eucalyptus biomass at a new plant in Marechal Deodoro, AL, Brazil, fully replacing natural gas use at the petrochemical facility. The project involved ~R$400 million investment and started operations around 2023-2024. It reduces emissions by approximately 150,000 tonnes CO2 annually, or 30% of Braskem’s Alagoas emissions vs 2020 baseline. Evidence: "Using eucalyptus biomass, the project will generate 900 000 tonnes per annum of steam, which will mean a reduction in emissions of approximately 150 000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually. This corresponds to 30 percent of Braskem’s emissions in Alagoas compared to 2020." — https://bioenergyinternational.com/braskem-signs-renewable-steam-purchase-deal/
