About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Evonik replaced coal-fired power generation at its Marl site in Germany with modern gas and steam turbine combined-cycle plants. The coal units were retired in early 2024, ending over 80 years of hard coal use and significantly cutting Scope 1 emissions at the company's largest production facility. Evidence: "Evonik to replace last coal-fired power plant at Marl Chemical Park with a modern, flexible gas and steam turbine power plant... will reduce its CO2 emissions by up to one million metric tons annually." — https://publications.evonik.com/de/presse/pressemitteilungen/corporate/evoniks-new-natural-gas-power-plant-will-end-coal-fired-power-generation-in-marl-saving-up-to-one-mi-116658.html
