About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Commissioned demonstration plant at ONGC Mehsana Asset using microbial electrolysis of produced water (oil production effluent) as feedstock, powered by solar, to produce green hydrogen at ~2 USD/kg while treating wastewater, for own operations decarbonization. Evidence: "This breakthrough project, commissioned at ONGC’s Mehsana Asset... utilizes produced water (effluent from oil production) as a feedstock to generate Green Hydrogen, completely eliminating the need for freshwater. The plant operates on less than 1 kWh of energy per kg of hydrogen, powered entirely by solar energy." — https://indianmasterminds.com/news/turning-waste-into-energy-ongcs-green-hydrogen-initiative-wins-gold-at-et-global-awards-for-sustainable-innovation-124418/
