About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
The MODUS project deploys innovative Microwave-Assisted Depolymerisation (MADE) technology to recycle non-recyclable PET waste from packaging and textiles into high-quality recycled PET and polyester equivalent to virgin materials. It will build a first-of-its-kind chemical recycling plant in Spain, processing 43,800 tonnes of waste annually to produce 35,000 tonnes of cPET, avoiding over 120,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. The initiative supports EU circular economy goals, creates jobs, and enables replication across Europe.<grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">18</argument></grok:render><grok:render type="render_inline_citation"><argument name="citation_id">15</argument></grok:render>
