About this project
The description is as the source gives it.
Novatek implemented a multi-level methane leak detection system including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/drones), satellite imaging, and ground monitoring at its upstream facilities such as those operated by OOO Novatek-Yurkharnovneftegaz. This project enhances detection and abatement of methane emissions directly in the company's natural gas production operations. It was announced and launched in 2022 as part of ongoing efforts to reduce methane intensity. Evidence: "The UAVs are an important element of the multi-level methane leak detection system, which includes satellite imaging and ground monitoring" — https://www.novatek.ru/en/press/releases/index.php?id_4=5104&id=1&from_24=27
